Brunei ICT & MDeC Malaysia Visits at iCentre

On day two 29th July 2008, a few of the delegates from MDeC and MSC made a visit to iCentre. A welcoming presentation was made by Mr Hui Kwok Leong, the iCentre Director. And then followed by an invited dialogue/ presentation by MDeC. Which was a really an "eye-opener" session for the Guests in the conference room. Also attended the session was a representatives from the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and also the incubatees from the iCentre itself. Later on, The delegates toured around the centre.

On the same day 28th July 2008, The delegates and the InfoCom Federation Brunei members were treated dinner at the Sutera Hall, Rizqun which was hosted by AITI (Authority Information Technology Industry Brunei). The Guest of Honour was the minister of Communication, Pehin Orang kaya Seri Kerna Dato Hj Awg Abu Bakar Bin Hj Apong,who later on gave a speech regarding the Brunei Government hopes to collaborate with the Malaysian Development Company (MDeC). Also giving a speech was the CEO of MDeC Dato Mohd Badliisham Ghazali saying that he is glad on such effort has been made and hope to work further more with Brunei. Along the Dinner, a culture show was presented through-out the night which was performed from the Ministry of Youth Culture and Sports.

A Business to Business or so called "B2B" session was held after the lunch. Each ICT company from Malaysia were given about three to five minutes to present their Company profile and background. This session purpose is to share knowledge amongst the ICT companies in Brunei Darussalam to better understand on what certain stage is Brunei ICT companies are now at and also to exchange views and create a working agreement between each parties.

Sorry for the slow updates again my respected readers, viewers.. i've been so busy lately with work. Well i guess you heard the news about the Brunei ICT industry collaborates with Malaysia Development Company (MDeC).

During the opening ceremony, the welcoming address was delivered by the CEO of AITI Pengiran Haji Mohd Zain and then followed by a speech by the CEO of MDeC Dato Mohd Badlisham Ghazali. Further on, Mr Wallace Koh the Assistant Chief Executive IT industry Developmet of AITI gave a presentation to show the status of the Brunei ICT Development Plan & ICT Market Opportunities' followed by a presentation which was presented by Puan Gayah Gulam Haidar, a senior Manager of the Socio-Economic Development Division of MDeC on MSC Malyasia and the eGovernment and then followed by a presentation titled 'Development of eGovernment in Brunei and its Future Plans' by a representative from the Prime Ministers Offiice

So probably you're wondering whats the purpose of such event? Well, ofcourse this has to do with the Brunei Info Communication Technology development by engaging experts from other country (MDeC) to share their experience and expertise in developing further ICT products, solutions and services. Probably most of us are unaware on up to what standards are Brunei ICT is currently at, but as what i have learned from this.. There's more effort needed on building up the ICT industry in Brunei Darussalam to Fulfill the Nations vision.

And by this such collaboration, hopefully in the near future both parties is able to seal the collaborative efforts through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as a pathway of opportunitues for the local ICT industry to further develop.

First of all, i'd like to say thank you to my parent for everything.. the food, the shelter and support!! without it, i won't be here, like this .. today! They rock! hehe.. To my fellow friends! Theres been a lot of things happened recently and Alhamdulillah, so far i have learned a lot from what i have gone through.. . . well i don't want to elaborate more.. but again.. Thank you and god bless to all.

Assalamualaikum everyone.. Sorry for the slow updates.. ive been really busy and tired lately. Just today, i have to be at three places for "business" purposes. But i really enjoyed it.. Today around 4pm i attended the 2nd Final committee Meeting of the Pusat Ehsan Charity Bazaar. I wasn't really paying attention to the meeting though as i was busy worrying about something else. . . So far .. the meeting and plans for the BIG day is going smooth.. everything is in order.. But we're going to have another meeting again next week.. just to finalize things before the BIG day which is on the 3rd of August. Everyone is invited to have fun! owh yeah.. i forgot to mentioned. the center received a special visit by the chairman earlier in the afternoon and i didn't got the chance to snap some pictures.. but feel free to see them at Cybercanon.
